Rear shock absorbers control the movement of the rear suspension and springs. Their job changes with the load: an empty car and the same car with passengers and luggage ask different things of the rear axle, and the damper has to keep the tyres on the road in both cases.
ZEIK rear shock absorbers are twin-tube units charged with nitrogen gas. The gas charge reduces the aeration and foaming that would otherwise weaken damping under repeated compression. The end eye ring is seamless, so the gas charge is retained without excessive wear or friction at the mounting.
The fluid is an all-weather formulation with modifiers that reduce friction and keep the rod reaction smooth across the temperature range. The piston rod is hardened and chrome-plated for a long service life.
The catalogue lists each reference by fitting position: rear left, rear right, or one part number for both sides. Rear shock absorbers are usually replaced in pairs so that damping stays balanced across the axle.
